The Heart was Made to be Broken

The heart was made to be broken
If your love does not work with that person,
it just means that someone else loves you more.
I don’t know what to do now that we’re apart;
I don’t know how to live without the other half of my heart.
Now that I have loved so purely and deeply,
I have realized how lonely I really am.
There is nothing sadder in this life
than to watch someone you love walk away
after they have left you.
To watch the distance between
your two bodies expand until there is
nothing left but empty space… and silence.
Watching you walk out of my life
hasn’t made me bitter or cynical about love,
but rather, it has shown me that if I wanted so badly
to be with the wrong person,
how beautiful it will be when the right one comes along.
The heart was made to be broken.
Love anything and your heart will be wrong
and possibly broken.
If you want to make sure of keeping it intact
you must give it to no one, not even an animal.
Wrap it carefully round with hobbies and little luxuries;
avoid all entanglements.
Lock it up safe in the casket or coffin of your selfishness.
But in that casket
- safe, dark, motionless, airless
- it will change.
It will not be broken;
it will become unbreakable,
impenetrable, irredeemable.
To love is to be vulnerable.
A relationship is like a train.
If one passes,
then the next one will come.
I’m sure and if you get off the train,
you’ll realize that everything is the same.
Relationships are like crystals,
you don’t realize how much you love it until it breaks.
Sometimes I wish I had never met you because
then I could go to bed at night not knowing
there was someone like you out there.

A heart breaking isn’t always as loud as a bomb exploding..
Sometimes it can be as quiet as a feather falling..
And the most painful thing is, no one really hears it, except you..
